Who Bejeweled the Red Carpet at the Oscars

Well last night was the big night, did your world stop if not for just a few hours so that you can vicariously live through the lives of the glamorous and gorgeous? Well out twitterverse did and we loved and hated as the stars floated across the 85th Annual Academy Awards red carpet.  Many are waiting to hear who's wearing Gucci,  Armani PrivĂ© or Alexander McQueen, but we're waiting to hear who's wearing Neil Lane, Fred Leighton, Harry Winston and Lorraine Schwartz.  And of course they all were well represented last night.

Charlize Theron, who was my "Best Dressed" of the evening looked just flawless in her 100 caret diamond bracelets and classic Emerald cut diamond studs by Harry Winston. (Getty Image)

If you follow my blog you know that there are a few who do no wrong in my eyes and Hallie Berry is on of them.  She walked on that stage for the James Bond tribute, in earrings by Adler, a stunning LeVian ring, and Versace gown that glittered in the light, what an entrance!  (Getty Image)

To me Jessica Chastain has been stepping up her game and last night was the culmination.  Hair, make up, Armani PrivĂ© and the icing on the cake of course were the Harry Winston vintage earrings and bracelet. (Getty Image)

Kudos to the lovely Jennifer Hudson for bringing FIERCE to the red carpet last night.  She was a force to be reckoned with in her Roberto Cavalli Couture royal blue gown and more color in her earrings by Sutra. (Getty Image)

After watching hours of stars walk the red carpet "neck"ed, what a joy it was to see the Jennifer Garner arrive with her neck properly adorned.  This magnificent timeless Neil Lane 200 caret necklace was the perfect compliment to her plum Gucci gown. (Getty Image)

The "twitterverse" was all a buzz last night as we caught our first glimpse of the "Best Actress" winner Jennifer Lawrence.  The actress was in true princess form in her Dior Haute Couture gown but added a younger more edgy twist by draping a delicate 74-carats necklace by Chopard down her back.  I have no doubt that we will be seeing more of that trend in the months to come. Spiritual bead bracelets ~ David Yurman

In my search for a great "push present" for a client I was very excited when I came across these fabulous bracelets from David Yurman. Just enough bling for the true diamondiasta :) whether you want to stack them for everyday or individualize them for dress up.
The Spiritual bead collection comes in several different styles like the black onyx and pave diamond bead ($1550), a white agate and sterling silver ($350) or the double row and pave diamond ($2500).  And they all have the signature David Yurman silver box clasp.

How much do you really know about diamonds?

How much do you really know about diamonds? Where they come from? How they are formed? The risks and even deaths all in the name of that beautiful stone, the DIAMOND. I thought this video on Hulu from the National Geographic Channel "Secret History of Diamonds" was very fascinating. It tells several different stories of the extremes that people take in the quest for diamonds.

Bubbles & Baubles

Anyone who knows me knows that I am all about being CLASSY, GLAMOROUS and the of course the BLING! So how better to show it off then to have a fab blinglicious event for the ladies! Hence the birth of Bubbles & Baubles, the perfect receipe of champagne and delicious gems.

I, of course had to make sure that besides mixing and mingling amongst the gems these ladies had a very inviting reason to come. The invitation! (which were hand crafted by yours truly). I put a lot of thought into creating something that was elegant, enticing and sexy. I know how I am when I see a big envelope in the mail, I am very excited to see what's inside (especially cause I know its not a bill :)

I partnered with a very near and dear friend of mine that I've known for many many moons, Zach Ramadan of DRZ Jewelers, to host this private affair. He is the owner of a gorgeous new store in the busy K st/ Connecticut Ave corridor. They feature some of the most fab, unique pieces of jewelry, watches and giftware. DRZ Jewelers offers watch and jewelry repair, custom and special order services. Everything for every taste and every pocket!

The ladies were treated to flowing champagne and the most scrumptious treats created by Cupcake Wishes & Birthday Dreams. She did a fab job coordinating the treats with my purple (of course) and egg shell blue palette. We had Pink Sapphire Soufletennies, Chocolate diamond pops, Platinum petit fours and "Caret" Cakes.

The ladies also had a wonderful time trying on necklaces and rings and watches with luscious diamonds and gems and even a great silver and platinum collection. Each lady didn't leave empty handed, they left with a goodie bag full of treats, which included a mini champagne, silk jewelry box, jewelry cleaning cloth and a sweet smelling all natural soap provided by a local designer. (Maryamm Khaalis of Kimbahu Designs)

A special thank you to the wonderful ladies that contributed to the door prizes that were given away, Dr. Tiffanie Winfrey of Winfrey Dental Aesthetics Dental Spa for the Origins Spa wrap and home teeth whiting kit. Keisha Sibert of Cupcake Wishes & Birthday Dreams for the chocolate cupcakes and 100 cakes 1 receipt book. And Janelle of Janetics Ink for the original print.

Thank you to all those that shared this fab event with us. I love being able to bring a little sparkle and bling into everybodies life. Stay tuned for more Bauble Extravaganzas to come!
